Prayer & Pose Safety & Basics
Prayer & Pose combines daily Bible study with a prayerful yoga practice that includes prompts for worship, confession, thanksgiving, and requests of the heart. The prayer focused yoga is available in a 50 minute full session, a 20 minute chair yoga (Prayer at the Chair), and a 10 minute Restorative pose with prayer.
As you move through the Prayer & Pose video, find a place between easy and hard. We should always feel something- such as stretching, reaching, or twisting gently; however, we should never move to a point of pain. Pain is an indication is is time to back off of a pose with a modification or substitutionary pose as listed below. It is recommended to consult a physician before beginning a new exercise program. If a pose feels too difficult you may substitute the following:
Standing Poses: Mountain
Prone Poses (Face-down): Child’s Pose
Supine Poses (Face-Up): Knees to Chest
