Person Of the Year
This morning I was rushing around at an "almost-late-for-church" whirlwind speed when I saw the front page of the Kenosha News, and it stopped me in my tracks: "Nominations Welcome for Person of the Year"
While I have no plans to send in an actual nomination- it made me pause and think about who I would nominate. It didn't take more than a few moments for an entire list of people that have impacted me to flood my mind in gratitude.
Yesterday my family saw the new movie called "A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood" and got a sneak peek into the beautiful heart of Fred Rogers. In one of the more powerful scenes, Mr. Rogers asks Lloyd to take one minute of silence to think of a person that loved him into who is is today.
With Thanksgiving only a few days away, I'd like to call you to a similar personal action. Take one minute, think about who you'd like to nominate as your personal person of the year- an individual that inspired you, blessed you, or in some way changed you for the better. Don't stop there- grab a thank you note and put a few sentences to paper and mail it off to them. Dream with me as to what impact your small note of thanks might have on their day.
Many blessings to you this Thanksgiving! -Kathy Schick
